Starting a home-based can be a viable option for people with a disability. With today's technology there are more opportunities for running a business from home. When thinking of a home based business, choose something you’re interested in, skilled at, and passionate about. This could even be a hobby that you turn into a business.

There are many advantages for starting a home-based or online business.  Obviously the luxury and comfort of working from home is always nice and it gives you more time to spend with your family. Home-based businesses may be a viable option for people with disabilities in terms of the flexible hours and suitable workspace, if accessibility is an issue.

Financially it’s also an advantage, with the reduction in transportation expenses, work clothing, and lunch or drinks. You will also save time commuting to and from work. The start-up of some home-based businesses may only require a computer and internet connection.

Please keep in mind that whatever business idea you choose, there has to be a market for it, so it’s important to do your research first.
